Abstract: Introduction: Guillain Barré syndrome, an acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, often results in severe impairment of many bodily structures and functions, with consequent activity limitations. This study aim to observe the epidemiological profile of hospitalized patients diagnosed with the syndrome in public hospitals in the Federal District, in order to cooperate for better clinical decision-making and with public policies in favor of the best conduct for these patients. Methods: Data were collected from the public platform "Situation Room" in a survey conducted on 02/20/2020 with ICD G61.1 (Guillain-Barré syndrome) in the hospital care / AIH tab from 2009 to 2019. Results:377 hospitalization cases were found; the three years with the highest frequency, descending, were 2018, 2009 and 2016, respectively; the highest frequencies accumulated were in March and August; the peak age group was found between 30-44 years; and the male population had a higher frequency of hospitalizations for the syndrome. Conclusions: According to the study, we can trace, through secondary data, an epidemiological profile of hospitalization for patients hospitalized with Guillain-Barré syndrome, consistent with the consolidated literature.

Abstract: Introduction: Stroke can be defined as an acute onset pathology with a neurological deficit that lasts for at least 24 hours and is the result of a local injury in the cerebrovascular system. Methods: Information on the number of authorizations for hospitalization perICD 10, number of authorizations for hospitalizations per year, accumulated frequency per month from 2009-2019 (Seasonality), distribution by age, number of hospitalization authorizations per ICD 10 by sex were collected and number of nights per bed type. The annual average of cases between 2009 and 2019, the average incidence per 100,000 inhabitants of the DF, the relative percentage increase by age group (distributed by decade in order to maintain the literature standard), the percentage distribution of the disease by gender were also calculated. , the total costs in procedures for inpatients with main ICD I64, the pattern of care distribution by hospital in the DF. Results: 19,000 hospitalizations were found for ICD I64, with an annual average of 1,727 cases in the last 11 years, in public hospitals of the Health Department of the Federal District in the period between 2009 and 2019. Considering a population projection in 2019 of 3.012,718 we hadan incidence of 53.6 new hospitalizations per 100,000 inhabitants¹³. The number of hospitalizations was more frequent in 2010, 2011 and 2012, from highest to lowest, with 2082 patients in 2010. Through an adaptation of the hospitalization data by month, by year, a higher accumulated frequency was observed in themonths of August (1,740), as well as lower in December (1,347). In terms of age group, the highest frequencies are among those over 80 years old (3,653). The total cost of the last 11 years was R$21,069,554.17, totaling an annual average of R$1,915,414.01. The Hospital that most admits patients with this ICD is the Hospital de Base do Distrito Federal (4067 patients). The average hospital stay is 11.02 days in the period. Conclusions: According to the study, we can draw, through secondary data, an epidemiological profile of hospitalization for patients hospitalized with stroke consistent with the consolidated literature.
