Abstract: Cervical cancer (CC) is the fourth most common cancer among women in the world. In Brazil, it is the malignant neoplasm that most affects the female genital tract, and 16.710 casos novos para 2021. Its peak incidence is between women 40 to 60 years of age.The main promoter of the precursor lesion is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), identified in more than 95% of cases. In addition, factors linked to immunity, genetics and sexual behavior seem to influence the still uncertain mechanisms that determine regression or progression to precursor lesions or cancer. Considering that cervical cancer is one of the priorities of public health policy in the country, this study evaluated the epidemiological profile of women diagnosed with invasive cervical carcinoma, attended at the gynecological oncology unit of a regional public hospital, located in the Federal District, using as methodology the retrospective, transversal, descriptive and observational study. The main risk factors were identified, aiming to provide earlydiagnoses and less invasive treatments, in addition to more effective action and intervention strategies for this population.

Abstract: This paper stems from the experience of an educational intervention project started in 1996, the so-called Women’s Care Club, developed at a primary healthcare center affiliated to the Regional Hospital of Ceilândia (HRT) at Brazil’s Federal District. It presents an alternative proposal of healthcare, which comprises climacteric women’s health and life quality altogether. It seeks to ponder and discuss health actions directed to climacteric women in a primary healthcare context. It also aims at finding effective care strategies, which shall encompass biological, psychosocial and cultural factors whilst anchored in an extended health concept reflecting a more humanized level of assistance in primary healthcare centers to women facing the climacteric. In addition, this article intends to share concepts that could offer some guidance to on-going similar endeavors and also the hope that even restricted and punctual initiatives may represent a fruitful effort towards the implementation of undertakings focused on integral health care provision to climacteric women in primary healthcare centers.
