Abstract: Objective: evaluate the clinical profile of pediatric patients with SARS due to RSV during the seasonal period in a secondary care service in the Federal District. Methods: this is part of the study “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in pediatrics – relationship between the etiological agents and clinical outcomes in a secondary hospital in the Federal District, between December 2021 and June 2022”, in which were only considered patients with infection by RSV, including co-infection. This is a descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional and quantitative study, carried out by collecting data from pediatric patients hospitalized who met criteria for SARS. After collection, the data was analyzed and compared with literature data on the topic. Results: 113 patients were included, 97 of them with RSV infection and 16 with RSV co-infection. A higher incidence was observed in children under 1 year of age (65.48%, 74 cases) and between March and April 2022. Among those infected with RSV, all those under 3 months of age, those co-infected and those with comorbidities required oxygen support, with almost 33% needing NIV or MV. Among those with comorbidities, those premature were those who most frequently required NIV or MV. Conclusion:this study highlights the rate of pediatric patients with SARS caused by RSV who require respiratory support and intensive care offering support for the preparation of services and health teams to face future seasonality and reinforcing the imperativity of adopting prophylactic measures, such as the use of pavilizumab.

Abstract: Introduction: it is known that around 80% of the causes of childhood blindness could be prevented or treated. The Red Reflex Test (RRT), popularly known as the eye test, is part of eye health strategies to prevent blindness. It is a simple, quick, painless, inexpensive and extremely important test for screening ophthalmologicaldiseases that cause obstruction of the visual axis. Objectives: this article aims to evaluate the knowledge of postpartum women about the test and publicize the importance of carrying out the exam in maternity wards, as well as in the child’s routine consultations. Methodology: this is a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The information for analysis was obtained through a semistructured questionnaire, which was divided into sociodemographic characterization and general knowledge about the eye test and other neonatal screening tests as a comparative form. The results point to an important gap in knowledge among postpartum women about the eye test and the need to implement informative and awareness-raising strategies, both in the hospital environment and in the community in general.

Abstract: This study addresses the perception of users regarding healthcare services during the covid-19 pandemic at a secondary hospital in the Federal District, aiming to understand its users in order to ensure the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS). The study sought to understand how the pandemic and the reorganization of the healthcare system impacted the lives of users. The study used a constructive-interpretative methodology to conduct interviews and perform its analyses. The results revealed two main areas of meaning. Participants, due to a lack of care, expressed discomfort, lack of knowledge, and anxiety regarding the health of those they were caring for, highlighting imbalances in biopsychosocial and spiritual aspects, associated with a lack of informative health information, along with a sense of abandonment by the healthcare system. The second area of meaning showed that participants only identified changes in healthcare services when seeking care, revealing a loss of SUS-user contact. The changes were seen as beneficial by some, providing security and care. However, the lack of effective communication led to a lack of guidance. The shortage of medical personnel was also mentioned as a challenge. The study highlights the importance of communication between healthcare services and users to ensure proper access to healthcare. It also emphasizes the complexity of the Unified Health System (SUS) and the need to understand individual and subjective patient experiences to improve the quality of healthcare services and the quality of life of the population.

Abstract: Introduction: psychiatric conditions represent a significant morbidity and mortality factor in the pediatric population. The covid-19 pandemic has led to a global increase in their incidence. Objective: to evaluate the clinical epidemiological profile of patients with psychiatric conditions admitted to the General Pediatrics ward of a secondary hospital in the Federal District (DF), as well as aspects of healthcare provided. Methodology: review of medical records of patients admitted to the General Pediatrics ward and analysis of frequencies and percentages of biopsychosocial factors and healthcare aspects. Results: 48 patients and 61 admissions over 43 months were included, with 26 psychiatric admissions and 35 for other reasons. Suicide attempt (SA) was the most prevalent reason for psychiatric admission (12 cases). Depression was the most prevalent psychiatric condition (18 cases). There was a higher proportion of psychiatric admissions from 2020, peaking in 2021, with a predominance in females. Conclusions: there is limited literature on the epidemiological aspects of psychiatric patients treated in Pediatric wards of other Brazilian services. There was a significant loss of the analyzed sample, indicating the need for a prospective study.
