Avaliação da implementação do checklist de cirurgia segura em um hospital público do Distrito Federal

Abstract

Introduction: The quantitative rise in complications and deaths due to errors in health care has contributed to a world wide movement capable of politicizing and substantiating patient safety in order to minimize the damage associated with health care. Objective: To evaluate the degree of implementation of the instrument of perioperative check-list of safe surgery in a public hospital of the Federal District. Methodology: This is na evaluation study of the implementation of activities related to the perioperative check-list, with a quantitative approach. The population consisted of surgical center nursing professionals -36 nurses and 09 nursing technicians. The collection and analysis of data willoccur through the Evaluation Matrix adapted to the "Check-list of the World Health Organization. Results: The female professionals predominated, over 40 years old and the majority between 10 and 20 years acting in the area (60%). Regarding the degree of implementation, sing in reached 92.7%, time out (89.4%) and sing out (85.5%). Conclusion: In general, the service evaluated obtained a 90%degreeofimplementationofthecheck-list activities. It was observed the need for improvements in the check-in stage, such as the verification of bronchospiratory risk and bleeding risk. In the time out stage, the professionals should improve the confirmation of their name sand profession before starting the surgery.
