Determinantes sociais da saúde e adesão do paciente renal crônico em tratamento hemodialítico

Abstract

Introduction: The importance of the subject in question is due to the need to better understand the difficulty of chronic renal patients in hemodialysis in terms of adherence to treatment, from the perspective of the expanded concept of health. Objective:To present theoretical reflection on the social determinants and adherence of chronic renal patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: Reflective theoretical study in which works were used regarding the social determinants of health and adherence of chronic renal patients undergoing hemodialysis. Results: Adherence is a multidimensional phenomenon, in this sense, it is a mistake to think that only the factors related to the patient are decisive, and that this is the only responsible for following the proposed treatment, considering that other factors can affect both the behavior as to the person's ability to adhere to their treatment. Conclusions:Knowing the context in which the patient with CKD and his family lives and identifying the social determinants that can interfere with poor adherence to treatment are essential, given that they directly interfere in the health / disease process.
